“Znayka” school has a chess club with an experienced and wonderful teacher, Valery Kotlov, who will teach you the deep wisdom of the game.

A little about him:

Valery’s interest in math and chess started in childhood. As a teenager he attended the Math Club for Children at Kiev University and was on a Chess Team. He competed in the Youth Chess Championship for the USSR. He achieved the level of Candidate for Master of Sport in Chess. While a student of Mechanical Mathematics at Kiev University, Valery led the Math Club for Children for 5 years.

He successfully defended his master’s thesis in Mathematics.

In the US, he worked as a mathematician-programmer, among other places, at General Electric, where he entertained his colleagues by playing chess with them while blindfolded!

For students aged 6 to 100!

Lessons are conducted in Russian and English.
