“Tiny Tots”
Znayka School invites children from 1.5-2.5 years old and parents to the “Tiny Tots” program. Classes run 9:45-10:30 on Saturdays, beginning in October.
At this age, kids are especially interested in the world around them. They want to examine, touch, and test the world. All of our classes are oriented on their exploration: music lessons, 5 minute dance breaks, learning songs, playing games, and finger exercises.
For the development of both fine and gross motor skills, kids assemble puzzles and mosaics, compose pictures from beads and buttons, draw, and sculpt. All these activities develop coordination. Attention is given to forming elementary spatial concepts of shape and scale: big vs little, sphere/cube/pyramid, and the kids study colors at the same time. It’s important to nurture an interest in reading through fairy tales, poems, and songs. All of our classes are aimed at expanding the kids’ lexicon.
Class groups are formed based on age, which allows the children to learn and play together at a comfortable level. Kids learn social skills interacting with their peers, which is important for their future.
It is a wonderful thing when Mom, Dad, or a loving adult helps guide a child in his or her exploration of the world, helping develop a basic trust in the world.
Let’s come together to open a path for our kids that is both entertaining and educational.
